President Bola Tinubu on Friday received prominent business and political figures at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos, including Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote and BUA Group Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu.

Other visitors received by the President were Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, according to a report by Channels Television.

The separate engagements brought together representatives of Nigeria’s private sector, the National Assembly and state governments, with Tinubu pictured with each of the visitors during the meetings.

Dangote, one of Nigeria’s leading industrialists, has recently spoken publicly about the Federal Government’s economic reforms, including the removal of the petrol subsidy and foreign exchange reforms. He had previously commended the administration for what he described as bold economic decisions.

Rabiu, who heads BUA Group, is also a major player in Nigeria’s manufacturing and industrial sectors. He has previously discussed the role of private-sector investment and supply-side measures in supporting efforts to stabilise prices and strengthen the economy.

Mutfwang’s visit came amid his administration’s ongoing engagement with the Federal Government on issues affecting Plateau State. The governor recently commenced the distribution of ₦1.5 billion in humanitarian support to households affected by violent attacks in the state.

The visits came a day after Tinubu delivered his Independence Day address to Nigerians on October 1, in which he said the country had moved beyond the difficult phase of his administration’s economic reforms and was entering a period focused on prosperity, jobs and improved living standards.
