Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff, according to a report announcing the appointments.

The governor also appointed Mrs Aderonke Adedayo, his Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, as Director-General of the state’s Due Process Office. She is expected to retain her existing role alongside her new responsibilities.

The appointments were reportedly conveyed in letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde Adetunji, and are said to take immediate effect.

Akinwole previously served as chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, where he was involved in the administration of local government personnel and staff-related matters.

Adedayo’s new appointment adds to her responsibilities in the Makinde administration, where she has served as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies.

In announcing the appointments, the governor reportedly congratulated the appointees and urged them to discharge their duties with loyalty, commitment and dedication to the service of Oyo State.

The development follows reports that the governor’s former Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, resigned on October 12, 2026, with immediate effect. However, The Axiom Daily has not independently confirmed the appointment letters announcing Akinwole and Adedayo, and the details should be checked against an official Oyo State Government statement before publication.
