Yoruba Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, Lima and Kira Taiwo, have publicly declared their support for the 2027 governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, in Ogun State.

The sisters expressed their support during a community clean-up exercise held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Saturday. The exercise was organised by the Gen Z for Yayi support group as part of an initiative focused on community participation and environmental cleanliness.

Videos shared by the group on social media showed participants taking part in the clean-up exercise while wearing branded T-shirts. The event was promoted online with the caption, “EGBA YAYI, outside with purpose, one community at a time,” alongside footage from Abeokuta.

In one of the videos, Lima Ogogo said the initiative was intended to encourage young people to move beyond complaining about government and take responsibility for improving their communities. She also used the occasion to publicly express her support for Adeola’s 2027 governorship bid.

Kira Ogogo also voiced her support for the APC candidate in a separate video from the event. She identified herself as Shakirat Olawunmi Taiwo Omokulodo and said the clean-up was the sisters’ way of demonstrating their support for Adeola, whom they referred to as the incoming governor of Ogun State.

The development comes against the background of Yayi’s previously disclosed relationship with the late actor. During a condolence visit to Ogogo’s family in Ilaro earlier in September, Adeola said he had planned to appoint the actor as his Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture with cabinet rank if elected governor in 2027.

Ogogo, whose real name was Taiwo Hassan, died on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66, after battling stage-four cancer. His death was confirmed by his daughter Kira and subsequently reported by multiple Nigerian media organisations. He was buried in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, according to Islamic rites.
