Nigerian comedian and content creator, Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, popularly known as Bae U Barbie, has opened up on why he walked away from skit making to pursue a different creative path.

Speaking during a recent episode of The Moraya Show, Bae U said he became dissatisfied with being “average” and wanted to challenge himself creatively.

According to him, the idea for his popular interview show, Curiosity Made Me Ask, emerged during a period when he was trying to rediscover himself and determine the direction he wanted his career to take.

Bae U explained that he did not want to simply follow the path of other skit makers, prompting him to explore a format that would allow him to express himself differently.

He said the concept was also inspired by comedian Zach Galifianakis’ interview show, Between Two Ferns.

Bae U has since built Curiosity Made Me Ask around unconventional and often humorous conversations with prominent personalities.

The comedian has hosted interviews with notable Nigerians, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, veteran actor Pete Edochie and television host Frank Edoho, among others.

Beyond his achievements so far, Bae U revealed that one of his biggest ambitions is to interview United States President Donald Trump.

The revelation highlights the comedian’s transition from conventional skit making to a format that has given him access to personalities across entertainment, politics and public life.
